Meet Our 2025 Board
Coming together from a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences, our skilled team of professionals is the backbone of New Haven Urban Debate League. Their ideas help shape the direction and mission of our organization as it continues to develop. Read on to learn more about some of our incredible team members.

President
Macy Lerner
Yale '26
Macy is a junior in Benjamin Franklin college majoring in history with a certificate in Spanish. They debated throughout middle and high school and love to read and spend time with their pet dog, bird, and guinea pig in their free time. Their fun fact is that they have not had pets before!

President
Vy Nguyen
Yale '27
Vy is a sophomore in Pierson College who is planning to major in English with a Writing Concentration and a Russian Certificate. When she is not baking with boxed mix or binge-watching Scandal, Vy can be found writing short screenplays that may be based on true events from her life.

Tournament Director
Aster Jin
Yale '28
Aster is a first-year in Silliman with plans to study neuroscience and art. A fun fact is that Aster's high score on Subway Surfers is over 7 million, which was roughly a 1.5 hour run.

Tournament Director
Maya Mufson
Yale '26+1
Maya is a junior History major in Morse College. She predominantly studies social (protest) movements. She joined UDL as a summer camp coach last year and has not looked back since! Her exposure to debate was pretty limited before university, so the UDL mission is very close to her heart.

Coaching and Curriculum Director
Ethan Reynolds
Yale '28
Ethan is a first-year student in Trumbull College and is considering majoring in environmental engineering or a related field. Ethan previously attended Sound School and participated in NHUDL / ADI for 2.5 years. Things often done in free time include spending time outside, reading, building + fixing things, and community service.

Coaching and Curriculum Director
Henry Levinson
Yale '27
Henry is a sophomore in Berkeley College majoring in math & philosophy. He has been debating since high school and loves watching TV shows with his little brother and going on hikes with his dog and family.

Treasurer
Dash Geda
Yale '28
A first-year in Silliman College, Dash Geda is hoping to major in either economics, statistics, English, or philosophy. He's been doing UDL since high school, with his favorite memory being when his team bought, carried, and eventually opened an (unknowingly) rotten durian on a debate trip.

Travel Tournament Director + ADI Director
Savan Parikh
Yale '28
Savan Parikh (he/him) is a first-year from Guilford, Connecticut in Ezra Stiles college, interested in majoring in physics and/or philosophy. He spent last year on a 10-month backpacking trip in South America. He's been competing in and coaching parli debate since seventh grade, and is excited to be Co-Director of Travel Tournaments and ADI this year!

Travel Tournament Director
Ray Nassar
Yale '27
Ray Nassar is a sophomore in Berkeley College from Milford, Connecticut. He is excited to serve as UDL's Travel Tournament Director.

ADI Director
Mariam Khan
Yale '28
Mariam is a freshman in Silliman College majoring in Applied Math & History. She’s been competing in parliamentary and Lincoln-Douglas debate for 5 years. In her free time, you’ll catch her hunting for the best café in New Haven.

Yale Summer Debate Program Director
Ayna Sibtain
Yale '28
A first-year in Grace Hopper, Ayna Sibtain is planning to major in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry. Her hobbies include kayaking and traveling.

Dennis is a member of the Yale Camerata, in several Yale College Arts dramatic productions, and most notably was violently pied in the face at YMUN '25.

Communications Director
Stephanie Chen
Yale '28
A first-year in Morse College, Stephanie is majoring in History. She used to do PF debate, but outside of that, she loves crocheting while watching Asian dramas or reality tv, going on random strolls, concerts, and reading.

Speech Director
Dani Klein
Yale '28
A first year in Benjamin Franklin College, Dani Klein is in the Directed Studies program plans on majoring in Political Science and Religious Studies. I did both Speech and Debate in high school, and she's very excited to be building up UDL's first Speech team as Speech Director.
